These cookies are a Christmas classic that everyone should have in their repertoire. Similar to a shortbread, these melt-in-your-mouth buttery delights are only 5 simple ingredients and super easy to make! The best part of all is how rapidly they disappear from your dessert table at Christmas time and the fact that you can whip them up in a mere 20 minutes. Change up the jam to make different flavors or make kid friendly ones by adding sprinkles!

      Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.

      Cream together your butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in vanilla and incorporate thoroughly.

      Add in the flour; mix well.

      Shape the dough into one inch balls and place on parchment lined cookie sheets. Using your thumb, make an imprint/well in the center of the cookie. Fill with your favorite jam or preserves.

      Since there is no egg or milk in this recipe, make it ahead of time and keep it in your fridge for a few days if needed. Simply take it out and bake as soon as the dough is malleable.
