What’s the first thing that comes to mind when I say “food for St Patrick’s Day”?
I’m going to assume that the list includes classics such as green beer and green cookies, not that the two should be consumed together – or you might just find yourself green to boot! The internet has so many interesting things to cook/make/bake up this St Patrick’s Day that perhaps we can skip the green beer – and start with a milkshake instead?
Bailey’s Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake – You had me at Bailey’s, but this milkshake can also be made for the kids (meaning without the alcohol in it.)
Cheddar Chive Scones – These would be a great green addition to go with the Irish Stew coming up next!
Irish Stew – If you are going to try mutton, then it should be in a simple and delicious Irish Stew recipe. Not everything needs to be green on St Patty’s Day!
Guinness Chocolate Cake – Another non-green option, Guinness chocolate cake is one of the best cakes around! Make it ahead of time to save yourself stress the day of your party.
Guacamole – It’s everyone’s party favourite, it’s healthy and it’s green! Perfect St Patty’s Day party food!
Green Pancakes for Breakfast – This one will either thrill or gross the kids out, but it’s just a little food coloring in their pancakes for a lucky day! Make a “build your own pancake” buffet at the party and the kids will be thrilled!
Broccoli Pesto Pasta – Say that one three times in a row! This very green and very delicious meal is perfect for a party, simply prep it and keep it warm for everyone to enjoy!
Shamrock Pizza Squares – Nothing says party like a pizza does! The peppers make perfect little Shamrocks on the pizza, and makes for very impressed guests!
Ice Cream Jello – This is electric green coloured! I love how it gets sliced into jiggly little square for your party guests.
Green Deviled Eggs – While I love deviled eggs, I’m not sure if I could eat them green…who am I kidding, of course I would!
